What was I thinking
What was I
thinking?
We exist to give you the
heads up on where to find a good bar, a good drink and a good time.
When we list a bar, we do so because we've heard from our friends, or someone in
the know, that these are some great places to go. In most cases, we have
personally checked these places out in our tireless pursuit of quality. Night
after night. But hey, if you've had a bad time of it at one of these places,
well, don't blame us. You are obviously from too far outside the loop!.

I originally started this site with one goal in mind. I wanted a
place where people like myself could go to find a quick list of the best
or cheapest places to have a little libation. I came up with this idea
years ago, when myself and a few buddies lived just inside the Heights
and we earned about as much as people like you would give us in spare
change. Our bargain Beer hunting eventually led us into the Montrose and
to a little local magazine I shall spare the publicity. The great thing
about this magazine was that with a quick look-see of their glossy ads,
you knew exactly which bars, on which nights, were having a Beer or
liquor filled evening for just a few coins. You could practically plan
out your whole week and spend only a few dollars a night. For example:
Monday you got your Beer bust, all the Beer you can drink for $4.00. Tuesday is
10 cent drink night. All well drinks, all night,..10 cents each! Wednesday
would be another Beer bust and so on. Man, were we livin' large on our
"income"..
|
Well, that was quite a few years ago and, unfortunately, the Man has
since done away with evil
promotions like the All-You-Can-Drink Beer Bust, Two-for-One specials and
those insane dime a drink specials. But all is not lost, my friends.
That magazine, with it's glossy ads, is still around but the drink
specials are pretty darn tame and way too far between. If you want to find
those real sweet deals these days, you've gotta pick up a couple of the
local rags and really pore over 'em. And don't forget to read the print. Fine print?
Hey, I can't even
read the street sign! Something had to be done and I was the closest to
the fridge. And
here we are. Now that we have a few good ideas, it's time to try
them out, so let us know what you like and what else you think might be
important to put up here. We'll try to keep the listings up-to-date and
put up other, not so important stuff, as well. If you like it, tell some
other people. And most importantly, be careful out there so you can
always have One More Beer!

| We would like to
give special thanks and recognition to the following:
Thanks to Dalton Webb for all the help on our
logo. Without him it would have remained a sketch on a piece of
paper. But he took the sketch we gave him and added his special
touch and now we have a truly awesome logo! So be sure to check him
out at www.mrmanifesto.com for
all your graphic design needs!!
My Sis, Dawn, for helping (creating by hand, by
herself) the silk screens for our logo!! She is the best!! And
if you are into VWs, especially busses then you must ck out her site at www.plfvw.com.
And we would also like to thank in advance Richard
Kimbrough of
Rustybus.com for being a major help in the redesign
of our web site. You might be asking yourself "what
redesign?". Well trust me we are working hard on it! Soon
